African Highveld landscape

Our story

Rooted in Africa. Built for builders.

Prodion.ai is an AI-enabled construction technology platform developed to support built-environment professionals across measurement, cost planning, tender, procurement and project-information workflows. Designed for the South African built environment and the realities of building on the African continent.

Why we exist

Automate everything. Powered by actual intelligence.

Prodion.ai applies artificial intelligence and structured construction data to assist professionals across measurement, cost, tender, procurement and project workflows. Our mission is simple: automate everything that can be automated — and leave the human judgement where it belongs, with the professionals who build.

1

Africa first

Designed for South African built-environment workflows, construction practices and the realities of building on this continent.

2

Human at the core

Technology should amplify professional skill, not replace it. AI-assisted outputs support — and remain subject to — professional judgement.

3

Rooted and growing

Like the Wonderboom — a thousand-year-old fig whose branches bend to the ground and become new trees. We grow with our professionals, not ahead of them.

4

Responsible technology

We are transparent about what AI can and cannot do. Every platform output is designed to support professional review, not circumvent it.

Who we are

A studio with roots and values

Prodion.ai grew out of a simple belief: the best software is built by people who genuinely understand the work it serves. We are a small, close-knit studio in Pretoria — and we bring the same care to every product that a family business brings to its craft.

We call ourselves Eco AI App Builders because we believe in doing more with less. No bloat, no unnecessary complexity, no wasted effort. Just honest tools that help good people do their best work — and leave room for the human touch that no algorithm can replace.

The name Prodion carries its meaning in its roots — from the Latin prodeo: to go forward, to emerge, to come forth from the ground. A foundation word. Like the Wonderboom, which sends its branches to the earth and grows new trees from the same root, Prodion.ai is built on a foundation that gives back to the ground it grows from.

"The Wonderboom has stood for a thousand years by sending its branches to the ground and letting them become new trees. That is how we think about building software — slowly, deliberately, and always giving back to the ground it grows from."

Our roots

The Wonderboom

North of Pretoria, inside a small nature reserve that bears its name, stands the Wonderboom — a single wild fig (Ficus salicifolia) believed to be more than a thousand years old. Its name means "wonder tree" in Afrikaans, and it earns the name: over centuries, its outer branches have bent to the ground, taken root, and grown upward again — forming a living circle of daughter trees around the original trunk, each one born of the first.

The Wonderboom Nature Reserve is a place of deep stillness. Beneath the canopy — which spans more than 50 metres — the air is cool and the light is filtered green. For centuries it has been a place of gathering, of healing, of shelter. The Ndebele and Tswana peoples held councils beneath it. Travellers rested in its shade. It is a tree that multiplies by giving of itself.

That is the spirit we carry into our work. Deep roots in the African built environment. A platform that grows outward by sharing knowledge, not hoarding it. Technology that shelters the professionals who use it — and leaves room for the human judgement that no algorithm can replace.

Ancient roots

Over a thousand years of growth — and still giving. We build for the long term.

Daughter trees

The Wonderboom multiplies by giving of itself. So do we — through shared knowledge and open craft.

Place of gathering

A platform built for community — where professionals meet, measure and deliver together.

Where we are rooted

KwaMnyamana is a Nguni place-name rooted in the Ndebele and Zulu languages. Kwa- means "at the place of" or "home of"; mnyama means "black" or "dark"; the qualifying -ana gives it a diminutive, intimate quality. Together: the place of the dark rocks, or the place of the black hills.

Historical sources use the name for an early Ndebele settlement near present-day Pretoria — the same Magaliesberg foothills where our studio sits. The dark dolerite outcrops that define the hillside gave the place its character, and its name. We carry that forward.

The site sits within walking distance of the Wonderboom Nature Reserve — home to the thousand-year-old wild fig that has spread into a grove of seventeen trunks from a single root. The landmark the neighbourhood is named after, and the spirit the work draws from.
